Basic Information

The objective of Basic Agility is to emphasize obstacle performance and teach basic sequencing. We want to express the importance of safety on contact obstacles and jump heights. Your dog must be at least nine months of age for Basic Agility. Basic Agility has a prerequisite of our Foundation Class, an Obedience Course, or the successful completion of the Canine Good Citizen Test. We will not permit dogs with aggression towards people or dogs to continue in Agility Training. The cost of Basic Agility is $80.00 for an 8 week class.

Graduation Requirements

Your dog must demonstrate all of the following to successfully complete Basic Agility. The handler must have verbal control of their dog, your dog should not continually disrupt the class. Your dog must show the ability to maneuver all obstacles from both the left and right side. We would expect consistency in the completion of the appropriate Jump Height, 8" for small dogs and 12" for large dogs. The A-Frame and Dog Walk should be completed with targeted contacts, with the A-Frame maximum height at 4'6". Demonstrate the ability to complete a set of 12 Weave Poles including guides wires, a chute fully extended, and a straight or curved tunnel. Your dog should also demonstrate a willingness to get on the Table.
